
As things continue to unfold, that which has been hidden will be revealed, in the political arena, war, and worldwide events: anger might show up in your field or it’s already landed.
The norm for many when anger emerges is to REACT from a place of defensiveness, blame, righteousness, etc.
Here’s an invitation to do something different when anger emerges, to work with it consciously.
What I mean by that is not reacting to a situation, person, or outcome, but to RESPOND.
If someone is rude, dismissive, patronizing, something rubs you the wrong way, etc., try RESPONDING instead of REACTING.
For example: keep your cool as you could ask them to repeat themselves again. They probably won’t say it the 2nd time quite so strongly and it could lead to a constructive conversation.
We can get stuck in the anger, in the victimhood, pointing blame and the ego can get off on doing that. One of my clients had brilliant awareness yesterday in her mentorship session, realizing that her ego was ‘relishing’ pointing the finger and feeling superior.
Let’s give ourselves some grace to be in that for an hour, a day, or maybe two but no more.
Ponder on ways you can consciously work with your anger to let it FLUSH something out or be a CATALYST to take action, create something different, or be/create the change that you are upset about. The energies on the earth right now are fully supporting this way.
See anger as a symptom. Look what’s under it and you’ll probably find what the real issue is that is getting triggered.
This process takes awareness and work as the go-to for many is REACTION instead of RESPONDS.
It takes time to build this muscle but it’s so worth it and can bring about many more beneficial outcomes. It also helps to heal the virus of separation, the root of a lot of the anger flying about right now.
