A Festering Angry Abscess – Wounded Feminine

It’s been a full-on week! I landed back in Boulder last Thursday after my magic trip in Mount Shasta. I was trying to integrate that as well as prep for the plant medicine ceremony on Saturday. With big energies flowing through me, I was intrigued to see what would show up for this beautiful group of people.

As per the norm, the plant medicines never cease to amaze me.

About four hours in, I said to Sierra, my amazing assistant, the collective energy of the group feels like a pimple that needs to pop. Sierra had already shared that she had anger, but felt uncomfortable and unable to access it.

I said to her, ‘Well, it’s time.’ This pimple needs to pop. I started drumming, eye gazing with her, and the warrior-like soul songs began to channel through.

‘How do I access my anger?’ she asked. ‘Think about anything from your childhood that pisses you off.’ I responded.

And then the anger began to flow, and the screams started, triggering another woman and another and another and another.

It wasn’t a pimple that was popping. It was an abscess of the angry, the wounded feminine, spewing screams, vulgarities, moans and groans.

Most women can’t access their anger or think they don’t have any, yet when the conditions are created, wow, watch out. It was like a volcanic eruption, so good, so needed.

I channeled soulsongs on and off and drummed for the longest time ever, at least 30 mins.

I thought my arm was going to fall off!

I checked on the others to make sure they were doing ok, letting them know that all this energy was the angry feminine and it needed to come out. It was all good and supported everybody’s process to move and release energies in their journey, particularly grief.

During our integration call, I sensed the calm after the storm. It will be fascinating to see what emerges now that the anger has been released.

What I also delight in about our plant medicine ceremonies is the gratitude that the participants have for each other because we did it together. None of them could have transmuted and healed what they did doing this by themselves.

Anger and grief are two of the biggest emotions that women hold in their wombs.

This is why I offer a rage ceremony during our women’s plant medicine retreats. We go even deeper when women come together to heal and transform. If you are feeling the call, Cornucopia: A Heart and Womb Harvest, our women’s plant medicine retreat is happening Oct. 2-4 in Taos, New Mexico. Feel free to reach out to learn more.
