Shame, so Detrimental… It can’t Exist in the Light

In all my years of being a healer and medicine woman, I haven’t witnessed shame in my clients like I currently am.

It’s showing up left, right, and center for the ladies in my mentorship, in the plant medicine ceremonies, and with the ladies post women’s retreat.

  • Shamed for speaking up about sexual abuse
  • Shamed that one can’t hold ‘toxic’ secrets from others
  • Shamed for being so emotional
  • Shamed for not protecting others from hard feelings
  • Shamed if didn’t behave with the ‘virtues’ of a good girl/woman
  • Shamed if one rocks the boat
  • Shamed for cheating / always two sides of the story
  • Shamed for being born
  • Shamed for something that they didn’t really do and didn’t speak up
  • Shame around sexual pleasure or abuse
  • Generational shame: carrying the shame of your ancestors, passed down from womb to womb to womb
  • Public shaming is extremely detrimental – wounding to the core.

…until you consciously decide to put it down, unload, say no more.

Invitation to work with this shame.

Shame CANNOT exist in the light.

One of the ‘simplest’ ways is to share the shame with a trustworthy person. That person just listens, no judgment, no fixing, no words needed, just presence, compassion, and love.

As you share that shame, see it go into a cauldron of light to be alchemized and transfigured into self-love.

It might sound easy, yet the shame will come up so strongly when you go to voice it. You might find yourself skirting around it so you don’t actually have to say it. Take a big breath. Take the leap and voice it or write it to your trustworthy person.

Get them to do it with you. Take turns.

Become aware of how your energy feels in the following days. I suspect you will begin to feel lighter and brighter.

Once again, this isn’t an easy thing to do. Reach out if you’d like support via the Divine Feminine Reclamation mentorship or the upcoming Plant Medicine Retreat in Taos, December 6-7.

Let’s take back our power from the shame and see how much opens up for us! It can feel scary, but it’s so worth it.
