My friend Maria recently sent me an article from the Washington Post titled: ‘Do You Believe In Magic? In a health crisis, it might help.’ Since I’m all about magic, Maria said she thought of it and sent it over.
It was an article about how a woman found comfort and hope in believing that a talisman in the shape of a wand, could help heal her daughter of cancer since it helped another little girl heal of the same cancer.
In the article, they shared this, “A talisman can give people hope and allow them to be more relaxed, more present and more supportive,” says Naama Hofman, an assistant professor in the department of Psychiatry at Mount Sinai’s Icahn School of Medicine
They go on to say. “While it may seem implausible, research suggests that magical thinking is wired into our brains and for thousands of years has been an integral part of our existence, across cultures, race and religions.’
Yes, it has! This is the divine feminine energy, the intuition, the heart that was trusted, honored and believed in. With the patriarch, that went by the wayside, but it’s making a comeback! Wahoo!
The brain does not know the difference between ‘real’ and ‘imagination’.
There are plenty of studies to show this. This is why, when we imagine in our third eye what we desire and feel it in our heart, it creates the vibration and draws it to us.
I have a talisman of sorts featured in the photo above. It’s the Andean Cross that I got when I was in Peru in June last year. I went through a very intense initiation into the Andean cosmology. I walked many miles in the Andes, did ceremony with it, and it was with me through the deep transformation that transpired.
I wear it when I lead ceremonies, knowing, trusting, and believing that it has magical powers to help bring in potent, supportive energies into ceremony.
