Breathe

Have you ever tried doing breathwork exercises? In many languages, the word ‘breath’ translates into the word ‘Spirit.’ In yoga, meditation and other spiritual paths, the breath is a central focus for many practices. Learning a few simple breathing techniques is a great way to self-soothe, clear anxiety, shift energy blocks and increase your energy.

The Shift!

Here is simple exercise to calm your nervous system. You can do this wherever you are, standing, sitting or laying down.

  • Breathe in through your nose for the count of eight.
  • Hold your breath to the count of eight.
  • Exhale through your nose to the count of eight.
  • Hold empty to the count of eight.

Repeat as necessary until you feel calm and peaceful. If eight seconds is too long for you, use a shorter time – this exercise should be comfortable to do.
